A novel control system of JARTEK utilized to a pole drying kiln

Jartek Invest Oy has made a considerable effort to develop the existing control system for drying kilns. This effort is now paying back - the very first investment regarding the special drying sector was made last year.

This next-generation control system has been successfully used for almost a year now for drying poles, both half-finished products as well as ready turned products.

The delivery of Jartek included mayor changes and novel ideas, such as the measurement of in-process drying conditions combined with chamber pressure monitoring and controlling systems. Naturally, all actuators were updated completely, and their controls altered according to the latest innovations in the industry. Additionally, the delivery included the assembly and a case-specific modification according to the needs of the customer – a characteristic Jartek is known for.

The aim of this investment was to improve the flow of information between the process control and production management. We are proud to announce that the aim was completed! The process control, monitoring, evaluating of the results and predictability have now reached a whole new level.

We are truly thankful to our customer about this opportunity. The customer has a strong knowledge about wood drying processes, and therefore, the commissioning of the equipment and training were professional and fluent. Also, Jartek has provided technical support and the conversation has been ongoing – a practise which has been beneficial to both parties.

It is now clear that there is a huge potential also in the special drying sector, and we are keen to start the next project in this field. Do not hesitate to contact in case of any questions and bear in mind that besides the novel control system, we can also provide new high-tech drying kilns.
